WNHU is the FCC-licensed, non-commercial educational radio station of the University of New Haven. The station operates as a lab for student learning, and as a source of socially, culturally and ethnically diverse programming for the University and surrounding communities.
WNHU was founded as a student club in 1970, and the station went live in June 1973. WNHU continues to thrive to this day. In the Fall of 2014, we moved our studios from the basement of Maxcy Hall to a newly renovated house on Ruden Street. Our equipment is first rate, but we are running our station automation - which has become the backbone of most modern broadcast operations - on free software. This was when we had our “a ha” moment: we need to train our students on the same type of automation software that the professional stations use!
We have our hearts set on Zetta Advanced Software; the best software produced by RCS, the world’s largest broadcast radio software company. Please click here for a short demo of the amazing Zetta software. The only thing stopping us from giving our students the best experiential education possible is the price tag for an entry level setup - about $8,500.
And that’s where you come in! By making your donation of—any amount—today and sharing this page with your family and friends, you can help us achieve our goal! This semester, we would like to raise all of the funds needed to get our students using Zetta Advanced Software this Fall 2016.
Please don’t forget to include which student or community host you are making your gift “In Honor Of” on the donation page.
With your help, WNHU students will graduate from UNH with the ability to walk into any radio station and know how their most important systems operate.
Let's Make It Happen!
Sincerely,
The WNHU Team
