Women's Volleyball - 2018 Season & Alumni Social

Hello Chargers Volleyball Alumni, Family and Friends! Our 2018 volleyball preseason is in full swing, and we already have 2 victories under our belt thus far. 

This season we began a new chapter, welcoming six new student-athletes and two coaches to our Charger family. Earlier this year, we watched Coach Robin Salters retire after 24 successful seasons with the Chargers and assume the role of Deputy Athletic Director and Senior Woman Administrator. Although we miss her on the sidelines, we are sure she misses us even more as she peaks through the doors of Charger Gym on the afternoon during practice, and as she continues to mentor Ana in her new position as head coach.

As we look forward to the new season, we would like to thank you for your continued support since you wore the Charger jersey and/or cheered on someone who did. We have a few goals and some exciting plans for this season, and we would like to share them with you because we need your help!

One of our main goals is to defend our back-to-back NE10 Conference Championship titles, and last season’s NCAA Division II East Region Tournament Championship title, advancing to the Final Eight. In preparation for these goals, we will travel to two tournaments to face a tough competition during the early season. In addition, we have partaken in Empowerment, Leadership, and Mental Toughness Training that have not only helped to create stronger bonds and chemistry within the team, but to prepare us mentally to face future challenges.  

Besides our athletic goals, we are eager to engage our Charger Volleyball Family in an Alumni Game & Social this season. Mark your calendars for Saturday, September 29th at 10:00 AM at Charger Gymnasium. The game will be preceded by the Charger Huddle on Friday, September 28th at 6:30 PM at Anthony’s Ocean View.
